Vancouver, BC, December 19, 2011 – The Award winning television series X-Weighted, known for portraying inspirational stories of individuals and families transforming their lives through healthy eating, mental fitness, and exercise, will be launching the ground breaking initiative X-Weighted Connect across Canada.
X-Weighted Connect was developed in response to constant requests from fans wanting to experience the journey they saw on the hit television show. This innovative event will allow thousands of Canadians to interact with the same team of experts, bringing the show to life in their community and encouraging them to join the healthy lifestyle movement. Through X-Weighted Connect participants become the celebrity personality in their own personal weight loss journey.
Canada is faced with a healthcare crisis as 2 out of 3 adults and 1 in 4 children are overweight, making Canada the fifth highest out of 33 nations having the highest percentage of overweight individuals. For many, weight loss is a complex and challenging issue. This powerful program helps individuals create their own personal blueprint for success by identifying and navigating around the habits preventing them from achieving and maintaining a healthy, sustainable weight. Participants will interact, have fun and be entertained with breakout sessions such as: “Doctor on Call”, “Food Fight”, “Connecting the Dots” and “Get a Move-On”.
“X-Weighted Connect is a chance to learn while you have fun! I am looking forward to seeing people get excited about being healthier and learning what they can do to achieve success!” says Paul Plakas, expert health and fitness trainer featured on X-Weighted.
Participants will also meet Dr. David Macklin from the show and one of Canada’s leading physicians with expertise in the field of Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Macklin says, “X-Weighted Connect will help people learn WHY they overeat and then provide strategies to manage successful weight loss. We don’t put people on diets anymore, rather, we help them identify and overcome their obstacles.”
X-Weighted Connect will also add another dimension to the highly successful X-Weighted National Challenge, a 26 week online program for fans wanting to mirror the success stories of the show in their own life. The X-Weighted Challenge has garnered a national following by providing support through blogs, resources, information and the ability to connect with other people participating in the Challenge.
The X-Weighted Connect tour kicks off on March 3rd, 2012 in Calgary, followed by Edmonton on March 4th, 2012. The tour will continue with additional dates and locations being announced soon. For more information and to register, go to www.xweighted.com.
