Anaïd Productions Receives 3 Nominations at 2014 Canadian Screen Awards

The Liquidator (OLN) Nominated for Best Direction and Best Picture Editing in a Reality Series & Hail Mary (Citytv) Nominated for Best Photography in a Reality Series

North Vancouver, BC and Edmonton, AB – Anaïd Productions has received three prestigious Canadian Screen Award nominations for two of its critically acclaimed Rogers Media original television series, The Liquidator (OLN) and Hail Mary (Citytv).

Outstanding television luminaries, Fred Frame and Mark Lawrence, are nominated for Best Direction in a Reality/Competition Program or Series, and technical phenom Chris Bizzocchi is nominated for Best Picture Editing in a Reality/Competition Program or Series on Anaïd Productions’ The Liquidator season one “Bricks and Mortals” episode. In addition, powerhouse cinematographer Allan Leader was also nominated for Best Photography in a Lifestyle or Reality/Competition Program or Series for Anaïd Productions’ football documentary Hail Mary, the “Open Tryouts Cincinnati” series premiere episode.

The Liquidator is Anaïd Production’s original television series (currently in its third season on OLN), which follows Liquidation King Jeff Schwarz as he haggles his way through an endless series of wild business transactions alongside his favourite regulars and an eccentric crew of characters in the high-stakes world of buying and selling. Executive producers are Margaret Mardirossian, Helen Schmidt and producers are Candice Tipton, Keely Booth, Christy Thomas, Blake Maddox and Dean McElwain for Anaïd Productions.

Hail Mary is Anaïd’s 11-episode original documentary series (which aired on Citytv) that followed six football players pursuing their dreams of playing professional football and making the opening day roster of the Edmonton Eskimos. Producers are Margaret Mardirossian, Helen Schmidt and David Benson for Anaïd Productions. Hail Mary series also won Best Documentary Series award, and Best Editor award for Steve Katakami at the 2013 Alberta Film & Television Awards. The series’ director of photography Allan Leader has also received a Canadian Society of Cinematographers Award in the Lifestyle/Reality Cinematography category, as well as the Platinum Remi Award at the WorldFest-Houston International Film & Video Festival for Hail Mary.
