Anaïd Productions’ Must-See TV “The Liquidator” Wins Leo Award for Best Screenwriting in Lifestyle/Information Category

North Vancouver, BC – The writing team at Anaïd Productions, one of Canada’s leading independent production companies, has won a Leo Award for Best Screenwriting in an information/lifestyle series for one of its longest-running television series, The Liquidator, starring the rowdy liquidation guru Jeff Schwarz.

The season three episode “I’d Bet the Pot” showcased the work of screenwriters Jeff Topham, Traci Galbraith and Katie Redburn, along with executive producer Keely Booth. Jeff was followed on one of his riskiest buys ever, as he shelled out $30,000 on a warehouse full of hydroponic equipment. It attracted an oddball crowd of “tomato growing” farmers and generated Jeff’s biggest deal yet. And as usual, the Liquidator team took what the cameras captured and expertly crafted an entertaining story.

“A lot of people don’t realize that writers have an enormous job on a documentary-style series like The Liquidator. They create coherent and cohesive 30-minute stories from hundreds of hours of real life content thanks to Jeff’s manic liquidation business,” says Margaret Mardirossian, Founder and Executive Producer of Anaïd Productions. “We are so proud of our team for consistently delivering such high quality programming the show’s fans have come to expect and love. We look forward to producing even more amazing episodes in season four.”

The Liquidator is currently in production for its upcoming fourth season on OLN. It follows Jeff Schwarz, owner of Burnaby-based Direct Liquidation, as he flies from one jaw-dropping deal to another moving and liquidating some of the most outrageous goods anyone has ever seen. Known for his high-octane and boisterous buying-and-selling skills, viewers are constantly bewildered and entertained by Jeff and his quirky crew of characters.

The Liquidator is produced by Anaïd Productions in association with Rogers Media Inc., with the participation of the Canada Media Fund, Rogers Telefund, and the Province of British Columbia, and with the assistance of the Alberta Media Fund and the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit Program.
